BibDB performs a selftest upon startup, to detect possible tampering. Setting
this parameter to off disables the selftest. The default is
{on}. Switch the selftest off if you are sure the program is virus free
and want to save time, or if you compress the program using LZEXE, PKLITE or
an equivalent EXE file compressor.
